Kanye West is being condemned by the Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Committee after posting an antisemitic rant on X in which the rapper declared “I’m a Nazi,” called Hitler “so fresh” and wrote that “he loves when Jewish people come to me and say they can’t work with me,” among other racist posts. West also stated that he is “never apologizing for my Jewish comments.”
“Here we go again. Another egregious display of antisemitism, racism and misogyny from Ye on his X account this morning,” Jonathan A. Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, said in a statement. “Just a few years ago, ADL found that 30 antisemitic incidents nationwide were tied to Kanye’s 2022 antisemitic rants. We condemn this dangerous behavior and need to call it what it is: a flagrant and unequivocal display of hate.”
“While some may dismiss his hateful rants, we cannot overlook the dangerous influence they can have on his millions of followers, particularly on social media, where a significant portion of today’s antisemitism thrives,” the AJC’s statement continued. “Hate, left unchecked, only multiplies. At a time when antisemitism is skyrocketing to terrifying levels worldwide, Ye is actively endangering Jews. We urge others with a platform like Ye’s – particularly in the entertainment industry – to call out this blatant hatred.”
This is not the first time West has posted an antisemitic rant on Twitter. The rapper was restricted on the social media platform in 2022 after a post in which declared that he wanted to go “death con 3 on Jewish people.” The 2022 rant led to widespread backlash and resulted in Adidas terminating its collaboration with West.
