Platinum-certified rapper Fivio Foreign is inching closer to a decision in his gun case court after pleading guilty to charges stemming from an alleged incident that happened in January.

Since the beginning of the year, Foreign (real name Maxie Lee Ryles III) has been detained in a New Jersey jail following a weapons-related arrest on New Year’s Day in Edgewater.

Foreign pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree terroristic threats on May 27, per the New Jersey Public Information Office. The deal is agreement or in exchange of the state of New Jersey dropping four firearms-related charges tied to the case, which also include aggravated assault and illegal possession of a weapon.

Attorneys for Foreign did not immediately return Variety‘s request for comment.

In a report from TMZ in March, the terroristic threat was described in detail, with Foreign being accused of pointing a gun at a woman who asked if he would help jumpstart her car at an apartment complex in Edgewater. The woman alleged the rapper aimed the weapon at her and said, “If I see you parked in front of this building again there is going to be a fucking problem.”

Despite being behind bars, Foreign has been active in the music industry. He’s released collaborative singles with Plaqueboymax and Caldwell — both of which were allegedly recorded prior to his arrest.

The Brooklyn-based rapper gained notoriety in 2019 with the release of “Big Drip,” a single that became a viral hit and elevated his career to new levels of recognition, leading him to collaborate with Quavo, Drake, Lil Baby and many more.
