The Australian debut of “Pretty Woman: The Musical” has been announced by rock legend Bryan Adams.
Adams – currently on tour in Australia – jumped on stage at the QPAC in Brisbane on Friday (February 14th) to confirm that the musical he co-wrote the music and lyrics for will be making its debut in October 2025.
Adams appeared at the press conference alongside co-writer Jim Vallance to make the announcement, after the musical – based on the iconic 1990 film – premiered on Broadway in 2018.
“I’m thrilled ‘Pretty Woman’ is finally in Australia, I went to see it last year and it blew me away!” Adams said.
The musical broke box office records at the Nederlander Theatre following its premiere and has since travelled to Spain, Italy, Poland and Germany as well as an extended West End season.
Local casting announcements are expected to be made in the coming months.
“I first saw this on the West End in London and just loved it and knew immediately that I needed to bring it to Australia,” producer Suzanne Jones said on Friday.
“I’m so excited to premiere this production in Brisbane.”

The announcement comes on the same day another Broadway hit premieres in Sydney – “Hadestown”.
The production follows “two intertwining love stories — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone” and “invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back.”
“Hadestown” features rising star Abigail Adriano as Eurydice, Noah Mullins as Orpheus, Adrian Tamburini as Hades, Elenoa Rokobaro as Persephone and ARIA Award winner Christine Anu as the narrator, Hermes.
In recent years, Australia has played host to a number of Broadway blockbusters like “Hamilton” (which just wrapped its second run of Sydney), and “Moulin Rouge!” while other hit productions are on their way including “MJ the Musical” this month, “The Book of Mormon” later this year and “The Lion King” in 2026.
