A man was arrested for trespassing at Travis Kelce’s Kansas home on Sept. 15, according to a local outlet. He was there to allegedly serve Taylor Swift with deposition papers on behalf of Justin Baldoni‘s lawyers in connection with his ongoing legal battle with his “It Ends with Us” co-star, Blake Lively, according to People.
KCTV5 said police identified the man as Justin Lee Fisher, who was arrested just after 2 a.m. local time after authorities responded to reports of a trespasser near Kelce’s gated residence in Leawood, Kan. Fisher, who was reported to be a former police officer-turned-private investigator, was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespassing.
Legal reps for Baldoni did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment.
Baldoni had long tried to involve the 14-time Grammy winner in his messy lawsuit with Lively. But, on Sept. 12, his efforts were thwarted by Judge Lewis Liman, who ruled that Baldoni’s legal team had waited too long to depose Swift and had not provided ample reason to extend the Sept. 30 deadline.
“Having failed to demonstrate appropriate diligence, the requested extension is denied,” Liman wrote at the time.
It seemed at one point that Swift would testify after Baldoni’s lawyers claimed in a Sept. 11 filing that she agreed to sit for a deposition sometime between Oct. 20-25. However, Swift’s lawyer, Douglas Baldridge, fired back the next day, stating she had “no material role in this action” and “did not agree to a deposition.”
Baldoni’s team was believed to be interested in discussions between Swift and Lively about the on-set conditions of “It Ends with Us.” Baldoni’s lawyers had achieved court permission to obtain messages between Swift and Lively after Lively’s team failed to block Swift’s involvement in the case altogether.
