After starring in HBO miniseries “I Know This Much Is True” in 2020, Mark Ruffalo is returning to the US network in “Task,” which headlines streaming service HBO Max‘s September 2025 lineup in Australia.
Created and written by “Mare of Easttown’s” Brad Ingelsby — who also penned 2025 films “Echo Valley” and “The Lost Bus” — the seven-part series enlists its star as a veteran FBI agent investigating a spate of robberies in Philadelphia. Tom Pelphrey, Emilia Jones, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Thuso Mbedu, Fabien Frankel, Alison Oliver, Raúl Castillo, Silvia Dionicio, Phoebe Fox and Martha Plimpton are also among the cast.
Julius Kivimäki-focused four-part docuseries “Most Wanted: Teen Hacker,” Steve Coogan and Harriet Walter-led interview dramatisation “Brian and Maggie,” the eighth season of “Outback Opal Hunters” and films in the “Rocky” franchise are also joining the platform.
