Who would say no to a “Happy Gilmore” cameo? No one, apparently.

“We got everybody!” Adam Sandler joked to Variety at the “Happy Gilmore 2” premiere on Monday night, which boasted an unusually long, 8-page face sheet of talent — from recurring cast members Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald and Kevin Nealon to newcomers Benny Safdie and Bad Bunny. The film also has dozens of bold-faced cameos, including Alix Earle, “Hot Ones” host Sean Evans and several decorated athletes such as Travis Kelce.

Sandler says they wrote a part for Bad Bunny after seeing him as host on “Saturday Night Live” earlier this year. “I saw him and and I couldn’t believe how funny he was,” he said.

After running into each other at a Laker’s game and exchanging pleasantries, Sandler says the pop star’s agent began to continually reach out to find a way to work with the comedian. As luck had it, there was room in the script for a new character and Bad Bunny was top of mind. “We said, ‘That’s a great idea,’ so that’s how it happened,” Sandler says. “He’s doing fine with or without me but I’m happy he’s in this, man.”

Of course, the sequel also stars many of the 1996 film’s original cast, including Mcdonald, who plays the villainous Shooter McGavin and Bowen, who plays Sandler’s love interest Virginia Venit in the original. “When he asks, you say yes,” Bowen told Variety about getting the call from Sandler about the sequel. “No one says no — you’d be high to say no.”

“My kids told me I’d never be in it because I’m too old…assholes,” she joked. “But yeah, when he called, I said, ‘Whenever you need me, however you want it.’”

“Happy Gilmore 2” is part of Sandler’s mega-deal with Netflix which will see eight movies made for the streamer under the comedian’s Happy Madison Productions. So, which of Sandler’s iconic films is getting the sequel treatment next?

When asked about a sequel to “Billy Madison,” arguably his most beloved comedy, he says: “Let’s write it tonight!”
