Turns out the devil (still) wears Prada!

News broke last July that a sequel to the 2006 hit comedy “The Devil Wears Prada” was officially in the works at Disney and now Disney has set a May 1, 2026 release date for the follow-up.

Though it was reported last year that Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt would be returning, no cast members have been confirmed.

Stanley Tucci told Variety recently, “I know they’re working on it. If it happens, I would be so happy, but I cannot give you any information. Otherwise, I’ll go to the actor’s prison or something. [The original] was one of the best experiences ever.

“The Devil Wears Prada” was based on Lauren Weisberger’s dishy 2003 novel about a young woman’s nightmarish experience working at a fashion magazine (Weisberger worked as a personal assistant for American Vogue editor Anna Wintour). Streep starred as Miranda Priestly, the all-powerful editor-in-chief of Runway magazine. Hathaway was Andrea Sachs, a fresh-faced journalism graduate who gets the job that “a million girls would kill for” as Priestly’s assistant. (The only problem, of course, is that Andy shows up at the fashion bible with a briefcase full of great clips but “no style or sense of fashion.”) Blunt is Priestley’s harried first assistant who must show Andy the ropes. Tucci plays Nigel, a longtime fashion editor at Runway who takes Andy under his wing and introduces her to Runway’s fashion closet. (Long live those leather Chanel boots!)

The next chapter reportedly follows Priestly as she navigates her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing and as she faces off against Blunt’s character, now a high-powered executive for a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.

Meanwhile, Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic “The Dog Stars” with Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin and Margaret Qualley is set to open March 27.
