Calling all budding and established songwriters! JMC Academy has announced its inaugural two-day songwriting conference called RE:Write, which aims to help songwriters finetune their art while learning from some of the industry’s biggest names.

Held at the JMC Academy Campus on Boon Wurrung/Bunurong land in Naarm, South Melbourne on Friday, April 14 and Saturday, April 15, the conference encourages you to explore and reimagine how you and your work might fit into the industry of songwriting and how you can tap into the range of creative tech and other methodologies to uniquely shape and suit your craft. 

Packed with specialised masterclasses, panels, and interactive discussions with some of Australia’s best music industry professionals – plus live performances by some of Melbourne’s best up-and-coming songwriting talent – the event will give attendees a backstage pass into the minds of some of the most influential voices within the industry.

Guests will have access to a breadth of expertise at the unmissable event, with facilitation and presentation by the incredible Jen Cloher alongside Nina Las Vegas, DRMINGNOW,  James O’Brien from Darling James and Angeline and Joshua from Telenova.

Supported by Music Victoria, APRA/AMCOS and The City of Port Philip, RE:Write is the perfect place for both aspiring and established songwriters to talk about their craft, get advice regarding their career, and hear from other leading industry professionals.
