“Kath and Kim” will return to television for a two-part special celebrating its 20th anniversary.
All key cast members are returning including Jane Turner as Kath Day-Knight, Gina Riley as Kim Craig, Peter Rowsthorn as Brett Craig, Glenn Robbins as Kel Knight and Madga Szubanski as Sharon Strzelecki.
“Kath and Kim: Our Effluent Life” will hit both Channel 7 and 7Plus for two nights later this year.
Rick McKenna, the show’s EP, said: “It’s fascinating and delightful to see audiences around the world still loving “Kath and Kim” after 20 years. It was great fun getting the team back together, plenty of laughs all round, which we look forward to sharing very soon.
Angus Ross, chief content officer for entertainment programming at the Seven Network, added: “Since I was a young lad, I’ve admired the elegance and poise of Kath Day-Knight – and her clowning glory.
“In fact, it’s safe to say she was my first crush. From high-couture to yoga, Kath and Kim had an immeasurable impact on the world. While I still find it difficult to look Kath in the eyes without blushing, it is an honour to be able to reunite them with their adoring fans.”
The original show was created by Turner and Riley and first screened in 2002.
It was on ABC TV between 2002 and 2005, before a brief stint on Channel 7 in 2007.
