Jim Jeffries will be on Channel 7 in 2023, after the network announced him as host of game show “The 1% Club”.

The format first aired in Britain in April, hosted by comedian and actor Lee Mack.

The format relies on “logic and common sense” to whittle a cast of 100 down gradually as the questions become harder.

In the U.K., the top prize on offer each episode is £100,000, however it’s not clear what the prize pool will be in Australia.

To win, a contestant must be able to answer a question that only 1% of the country would get right.

The network said: “A game show like no other, “The 1% Club” is already a runaway hit in the U.K. and an all-new Australian version will arrive on Channel 7 and 7Plus in 2023. People of all ages and backgrounds can be part of “The 1% Club” because, unlike most quizzes, they don’t need to brush up on general knowledge to do well. All they need is logic and common sense.”

“The 1% Club” will be produced by BBC Studios Australia and New Zealand for the Seven Network.

The announcement formed part of Seven’s Upfront event in Sydney on Tuesday evening, where the network also revealed it had struck deals with NBCUniversal (NBCU), which will see it become the home of many of the international content giant’s formats and films. As part of the multi-year partnership, Seven will also launch a new digital free-to-air (FTA) channel, known as 7Bravo, in January.
