“Hunted” will hit screens on Channel 10 and streaming platform 10 play on Sunday, July 17.
The show is produced by Endemol Shine Australia and is being billed as a “real-life game of cat and mouse” where viewers are granted access to both sides of the pursuit.
Network 10 said it will play out like a real-life thriller with 18 contestants on the run from a team of expert ‘Hunters’.
The contestants must fly under the radar and avoid detection for 21 days. The show’s makers flagged that paranoia will set in over the course of the series as people start questioning where they can hide and who they can trust.
Those who manage to last the distance and outsmart “some of the country’s top experts” will win a share of the $100,000 prize money.
“Hunted” was filmed in Victoria with production partner Visit Victoria.
Network 10 said “Hunted” was “one of the most anticipated fly-on-the-wall series of 2022”.
CEO of Visit Victoria, Brendan McClements, added: “We’re all about doing things differently at Visit Victoria, so as soon as we heard the premise of this exciting new format, we wanted to be part of it – to support the state through its recovery and encourage Australians to return.”
Network 10 and Endemol Shine Australia also recently revealed “The Traitors” will hit screens soon.
The program is billed as a “heart-pounding psychological adventure series” which will pit contestants against each other in missions to win silver for their prize pot. Some of the contestants, however, are secretly ‘Traitors’ and will attempt to lie, deceive and manipulate their way to the prize by eradicating ‘Loyal’ contestants.
“The Traitors” will be hosted by Rodger Corser.
