Lizzo’s documentary “Love, Lizzo” will become available to Australian viewers on Nov. 25 on Foxtel’s Binge.
Binge said the doco tracks the journey of the trailblazing superstar who has “become the movement the world desperately needed just by being herself”.
“Every once in a while, an artist changes not only music, but culture as well. Lizzo has done both,” the streamer said.
“The documentary shares the inspirational story behind Lizzo’s humble beginnings to her meteoric rise with an intimate look into the moments that shaped her hard-earned rise to fame, success, love and international stardom,” it added.
The artist has formerly said: “I’m so excited I get to share and relive my journey with my fans… From “Cuz I Love You” to my dramatic world tour, losing and gaining love, and creating my new album “Special”, y’all get to see the amount of time, patience, blood, sweat and tears that went into this process.
“It takes 10 years to become an ‘overnight success’, and hopefully I can inspire other young creatives to keep going.”
The film is directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Doug Pray (“The Defiant Ones”) and produced by Kevin Beisler, Kevin Weaver, Ryan Kroft and Nicole Rocklin. Pray also serves as a producer with his producing partner Stephanie Meurer.
Lizzo is executive producing with her production company Lizzobangers, while Len Blavatnik, Julie Greenwald, Craig Kallman and Charlie Cohen are EPs for Atlantic Films/Warner Music Entertainment. Live Nation Productions’ Michael Rapino, Omar Al-Joulani, Lesley Olenik and Chad Wasser, along with Diamond Docs’ Mark Monroe are also executive producing.
The documentary will hit the U.S. on HBO Max on Nov. 24.
The artist has also worked with Amazon Studios for her reality competition series “Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls”, which follows her as she puts 13 plus-sized dancers through a series of boot camp challenges in the hopes of getting them ready to join her on tour.
