As we head into the final month of winter, Netflix has some intriguing new arrivals, including a docuseries about an infamous music festival.
On August 3rd, a docuseries takes viewers inside the notorious Woodstock ’99. Set to celebrate the legacy of the 1969 original Woodstock, the 1999 version was marred by sexual assault allegations, looting, fights, and general mayhem.
“Clusterf**k: Woodstock ’99” features unseen footage of the event, as well as interviews with the likes of Korn’s Jonathan Davis, Bush’s Gavin Rosedale, Fatboy Slim, and the late Woodstock organiser Michael Lang. Watch this if you struggled with the mud at this year’s Splendour in the Grass and need some perspective.
August also sees the arrival of a highly-anticipated adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s classic comic book series, “The Sandman”. Stuck in development hell for over three decades, Netflix finally struck a deal to produce the fantasy drama a few years ago.
The series will follow Morpheus, the Dream King, who embarks on a journey across worlds to find what was stolen from him in a bid to restore his power.
