The Seven Network has revealed which international content giant it is aligning itself with, announcing a multi-year deal with NBCUniversal (NBCU).

The partnership will include a new free-to-air station, known as 7Bravo, launching in January.

It will also bring a number of NBCU’s movies, scripted network and cable dramas and comedies to the Seven Network’s other stations and streaming and catch-up service 7Plus for years to come.

NBCU titles included in the deal include “Quantum Leap” and “Lopez vs. Lopez”, which will debut on Channel 7 next year, as well as “The Endgame”, which will screen on 7Plus. Movies on offer include “F9”, “The Boss Baby: Family Business” and “Spirit Untamed”.

The Seven Network’s James Warburton, CEO and managing director, said the network is honoured and excited to partner with NBCU to bring its world-class content to viewers.

“NBCUniversal is a global content powerhouse and the creator of some of the best-known and most-loved entertainment brands in the world, across film and television,” he said. “We can’t wait to bring them and much more to Seven and 7Plus.”

Angus Ross, Seven’s chief content officer for entertainment programming echoed this sentiment, saying NBCU has a remarkable pipeline of content.

“For Seven, it means access to an amazing library of new and classic content. For 7Plus, in particular, it brings a whole new world of must-watch series and movies. Australians already love NBCUniversal’s great content, and we know they are going to love watching it across the screens of Seven.”

Chris Taylor, managing director of NBCU International Networks and Direct-to-Consumer and distribution for Australia and New Zealand, added: “We are delighted to have established such a broad and innovative partnership with Seven West Media.

“This expansive content agreement will fuel both Seven’s network of channels and 7Plus with iconic scripted content from our library, while positioning Australian viewers to enjoy the best of our new network and cable product from the U.S., as well as our feature films.”
