Ryan Moloney is the first identity to be eliminated from this season of “The Masked Singer Australia”.

The former “Neighbours” star was unmasked during the show’s premiere on Sunday night.

The guessing panel of former Spice Girl Mel B, and radio and TV stars Abbie Chatfield, Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes and Chrissie Swan had guessed the performer under the ‘Knight’ costume may have been Nick Cummins, Brendan Fevola, Shannon Noll or David Hasselhoff.

Moloney said: “28 years on “Neighbours”, I tell you this is the shortest job I have ever had.”

The launch episode had 522,000 metro viewers. With the addition of regional viewers, this climbed to 706,000.

The segment in which Moloney was unmasked climbed to 598,000 in the metro markets, and 809,000 across the country.

This means the shiny floor format on Channel 10 was beaten out by the launch of “The Block” on Channel 9.

The launch episode of “The Block” had 867,000 metro viewers and a further 364,000 in the regional markets. The Nine Network said with a broadcast video on demand (BVOD) audience of 114,000, the total viewing audience for “The Block: Tree Change” was 1.345 million.

Channel 7’s launch of “MKR”, meanwhile, had 503,000 across the metro markets and 767,000 nationally.

In the metro markets, the most-watched program overall was “Seven News”, with 982,000, while the network’s broadcast of the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games had 724,000 for the night session.
