“Beetlejuice the Musical” will conclude its national tour in Sydney.
Michael Cassel Group, Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures and Langley Park Productions announced today that the Tony Award-nominated musical will play Sydney’s Capitol Theatre from November 2026.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, May 7 here.
“Beetlejuice the Musical” features music and lyrics by Australia’s own Eddie Perfect, which earned him a Tony nomination.
“Sydney is a city that embraces big ideas and bold theatrical experiences,” Perfect says. “‘Beetlejuice’ is unapologetically outrageous, packed with heart, spectacle, and a healthy dose of anarchic comedy, and I know Sydney audiences will fall in love with this gloriously twisted world.”
Reprising his role as Beetlejuice, Broadway star Andy Karl shares: “Getting to step into the black-and-white striped suit is always a thrill, and I’m so excited to finally do it for Sydney audiences. Knowing this city will be the final stop on our Australian tour makes it even more special. This show will bring the laughter, the music and just the right amount of mayhem to one of the world’s great theatre cities.”
“Beetlejuice the Musical” tells the story of Lydia Deetz, an unusual teenager obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.”

“Lucky for Lydia, her new house is haunted by a recently deceased couple and a degenerate demon with a thing for stripes. When Lydia calls on this ghost-with-the-most to scare away her insufferable parents, Beetlejuice comes up with the perfect plan, which involves exorcism, an adorable girl scout who gets scared out of her wits and a whole (nether)world of pandemonium,” an official synopsis reads.
The musical is directed by another Tony Award winner Alex Timbers (“Moulin Rouge!”), with an original score by Perfect, a book by Scott Brown and Emmy Award nominee Anthony King (“Broad City”), choreography by Connor Gallagher (“The Robber Bridegroom”) and music supervision, orchestrations and incidental music by Kris Kukul (“Joan of Arc: Into the Fire”).
