Rapper Offset was shot in Hollywood, Florida on Monday, and is currently in stable condition.
A spokesperson for Offset said in a statement to Variety that he’s being treated for the gunshot wound and is currently under observation. “We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care,” said the rep. “He is stable and being closely monitored.”
Details are relatively scarce surrounding the incident, but TMZ reported on Monday evening that the Migos member was shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Florida. Specific details about the shooting remain unknown, and the Seminole Police Department did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for comment.
The 34-year-old, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, rose to prominence over the past decade-and-a-half as one-third of Migos alongside Quavo and Takeoff. The trio became one of the defining rap groups of the past decade with multiple hits including “Bad and Boujee” and albums like “Culture.” In 2019, he went solo with his debut studio album “Father of 4,” followed by 2023’s “Set It Off” and 2025’s “Kiara.” Last year, he also released his “Haunted by Fame” album featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again, NoCap and Lil Dump.
In 2022, his cousin Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston at the age of 28. In a cover interview with Variety the following year, Offset opened up about his grief, sharing how difficult it was to talk bout it. “I get through my day thinking it’s fake. And I don’t say nothing to nobody about it,” he said.
