Wuthering Heights” duo Margot Robbie and Charli xcx joined forces for Complex’s latest “GOAT Talk” video interview, where Robbie revealed that a male co-star once gave her a book advising her to lose weight. Robbie, who stars in and produces “Wuthering Heights,” remembered the insulting encounter when asked to name the worst gift she’s ever received.

“Very, very early in my career, an actor I worked with, a male actor, gave me a book called ‘Why French Women Don’t Get Fat,’ and it was essentially a book telling you to eat less,” Robbie said much to Charli’s shock. “I was like, ‘Woah, fuck you, dude.’”

When Charli asked if this male co-star was still working today, Robbie answered: “That was a very [long time ago]. I have no idea where he would even be now. This was really back in the day… He essentially gave me a book to let me know that I should lose weight. I was like, ‘Wow.’”

Robbie is playing Catherine Earnshaw opposite Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff in “Wuthering Heights,” directed by “Promising Young Woman” and “Saltburn” filmmaker Emerald Fennell. The movie’s marketing, powered by Charli’s original songs, has been erotically charged, but Robbie recently told British Vogue the actual film will be something different.

“Everyone’s expecting this to be very, very raunchy. I think people will be surprised. Not to say there aren’t sexual elements and that it’s not provocative – it definitely is provocative – but it’s more romantic than provocative,” Robbie told worried readers. “This is a big epic romance. It’s just been so long since we’ve had one – maybe ‘The Notebook,’ also ‘The English Patient.’ You have to go back decades. It’s that feeling when your chest swells or it’s like someone’s punched you in the guts and the air leaves your body. That’s a signature of Emerald’s. Whether it’s titillating or repulsion, her superpower is eliciting a physical response.”
