VVS Films has welcomed Brett Rosengarten to its local team, marking a significant step in the company’s continued expansion across Australia and New Zealand.
Rosengarten, who had been working with VVS as a consultant, will now hold the role of Executive Director, ANZ. He will work alongside Sinclair Brook, who will move into the elevated position of General Manager of ANZ Distribution. In their new roles, Rosengarten and Brook will share functions, working closely with local exhibitors, partners and filmmakers to further strengthen the company’s presence in the region.
Rosengarten brings a wealth of experience in film distribution, acquisitions and market strategy to the position, including over 20 years at Roadshow Films. Most recently, he served as CEO of Independent Cinemas Australia.
Meanwhile Brook, a 10-year veteran of Roadshow Films, has been with VVS ANZ since its beginnings in 2023. He has been instrumental in establishing its strong footprint in the territories.
“Brett is an exceptional addition to VVS Films ANZ,” said Javi Hernandez, EVP at VVS Films. “We feel fortunate to have the best team to curate and release our commercially driven slate to audiences in Australia and New Zealand.”
Harry Grivakis, SVP of VVS Films, added: “We are thrilled to have Brett and Sinclair on our side as we continue to grow our operations and build on our momentum in Australia and New Zealand.”
Rosengarten’s appointment underscores VVS Films’ long-term investment in the ANZ region and its belief in theatrical and event-driven cinema. The company has a strong upcoming slate in the territories, including The British spoof-comedy “Fackham Hall,” “The Magic Faraway Tree,” based on the beloved children’s novel by author Enid Blyton, “The Drama” starring Zendaya and Robert Pattison, and Sundance breakout “The Invite,” directed by Olivia Wilde, starring Wilde, Seth Rogen, Penelope Cruz and Edward Norton.
