Noah Kahan has announced that his fourth album, “The Great Divide,” will be released on April 24.
The singer-songwriter revealed the news of his upcoming project on social media, posting the album cover and explaining his process in putting together the record. Kahan, who is set to release the first single “The Great Divide” on Friday, says that he wrote the project “next to a piano in Nashville, next to a pond in Guilord Vermont, in a legendary studio in upstate New York, on a farm with a firetower in Only, Tennessee.”
“The songs are the words I would say if I could,” he wrote. “They are the fears I dance with in the moments before I drift off to sleep. The music here is my best attempt to delve deeper into the people, places, and feelings that have made me who I am. I am grateful for all of it, for all of you, for listening to them, if you choose to do so.”
Kahan will release his new album on the heels of 2022’s “Stick Season,” a breakout project that led to an expanded edition the following year. Kahan, who spent much of the past few years becoming a touring juggernaut, was nominated for best new artist at the Grammy Awards in 2024.
