Hannah Gasdby continues to break new ground in the comedy world, now releasing recordings of their last standup show in two different formats. “Woof!” ran for just five weeks in New York City, meaning that few international audiences got to watch it, audiences that grew from their deal with Netflix that led to their previous three solo shows being available on the streaming platform.
With “Woof!”, Gadsby wanted to break that release pattern. A press release states that fans will never get to watch it as-is because it doesn’t exist. However, Gadsby has now released two versions of a recording: an audio-only album on streaming and a YouTube-exclusive version of clips edited together with accompanying animation.
“Woof!” is a show that draws its subject material from the year 2023, which Gadsby toured in 2024. After spending 2025 in the editing booth, the comedian feels that 2026 would be the year to put it out into the world — not so coincidentally releasing the album onto streaming on their birthday.

Hannah added, “Seven years after ‘Nanette’ changed my whole life and exposed me to an incredible, if inconceivable, audience around the world, it’s time to have another direct conversation with my – new – audience. I’m not the same person I was when we met. Allow me to reintroduce myself, on my terms. I am so proud of this show, and so excited about this new format. Please, get in my head, while I get in your ear…not in a weird way.”
“Nanette” was Gadsby’s breakout 2018 special, one that propelled them to win an Emmy, a Peabody, an AACTA, and the Most Outstanding Show awards at both the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Edinburgh Fringe. Since then, Gadsby has toured the world with solo stand-up comedy shows – selling out houses across the US, Australia, and Europe, including the Sydney Opera House, The Palladium in London’s West End, the Kennedy Center, and the Opera House at BAM in NYC.
Gadsby’s second Netflix special, “Douglas”, was also nominated for an Emmy Award and won an AACTA, as did their third, “Something Special”.
Woof! is available wherever you stream your music, and you can watch the animated version exclusively on YouTube here.
