Tony Award nominee Fina Strazza has been added to the cast of Amy Poehler, Mike Schur and J.J. Philbin’s upcoming Peacock comedy “Dig.” She’ll star opposite a previously announced cast including Poehler, Hugh Laurie and Geraldine Viswanathan.

Strazza will play Patty, an undergraduate assistant for Laurie’s character Neville. Patty is described as “way over her head. This dig represents the first time she has ever been outside of the U.S.”

Strazza, who made her Broadway debut at age 8 as the star of “Matilda the Musical,” earned her Tony nom in 2025 in the best featured actress in a play category for her role as fiercely feminist student Beth Powell in the Broadway’s “John Proctor Is the Villain.” She recently starred in Netflix’s “Fear Street: Prom Queen” and co-starred in the Amazon series “Paper Girls.”

Strazza’s other credits include “Law & Order: SVU,” “FBI: Most Wanted” and “Madam Secretary,” as well as the films “Above the Shadows,” “A Little Game,” “Early Learnings,” “Fractured, Tribe” and the upcoming “Who Framed Tommy Callahan?”

“Dig” comes from Schur (“A Man on the Inside”), Poehler and Philbin, who are writers and executive producers on the show. The logline describes the series as “four women working at an archeological dig in Greece who are at wildly different crossroads in their lives. When the team uncovers a long-buried secret with the potential to rewrite history, they find themselves at the center of a high-stakes international conspiracy.”

Dean Holland (“Parks and Recreation”) is director and exec producer, while EPs include Morgan Sackett (“Hacks,” “Veep”), Dave Becky (“Russian Doll,” “Insecure”) and David Miner (“30 Rock,” “Parks and Recreation”) for 3 Arts, Sharon Jackson (“Life & Beth”) for Ocean Avenue, Kate Arend (“Russian Doll”) and Jordan Grief (“Lucy and Desi”) for Paper Kite. Kate Myers (“Excavations”) is co-EP. Fremulon, Paper Kite, 3 Arts and Ocean Avenue produce the show for Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Strazza is repped by Paradigm, Mara Entertainment and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
