Adam Friedland has signed with UTA.
The comedian and podcaster best known for hosting “The Adam Friedland Show” will be represented by the agency in all areas, including film, television, news media, podcasting and comedy touring.
Friedland rose from the crude, cult-hit comedy podcast “Cum Town” before launching his freewheeling, offbeat comedy talk program “The Adam Friedland Show,” which, complete with a cozy set reminiscent of the 1970s, is loosely inspired by “The Dick Cavett Show.”
Friedland’s surprising, unfiltered conversations with celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker, media figures like Dave Portnoy and politicians like Rep. Richie Torres have garnered viral fame and led GQ magazine to crown him “the millennial Jon Stewart” in a profile earlier this year. “The Adam Friedland Show” is currently in its second season, with recent guests including Chance the Rapper, Sen. Chris Murphy, Richard Kind, Amanda Knox, Logic, Blake Griffin and Rainn Wilson.
Outside of his talk show, Friedland has become a prominent voice in the alt comedy scene, performing stand-up across the United States. He’s also been booked on news media programs like “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” where he appeared alongside a panel of right-wing pundits and journalists and pulled off an elaborate bit asking people to have more “empathy” for a “suffering” Donald Trump.
Friedland continues to be represented by managers Marc Fineman (FINE Group) and Mason Klein (Mixed Management), as well as publicist Mitchell Jackson (BCC Communications). He joins a wide comedy roster at UTA that includes Sebastian Maniscalco, Nate Bargatze, Nikki Glaser, Bo Burnham, Demetri Martin, Nathan Fielder, Sarah Sherman and more.
