Jai Courtney is the latest addition to the “Yellowstone” spinoff focused on Beth and Rip, Variety has learned exclusively.
Currently titled “The Dutton Ranch,” the series will see Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprise their roles from the mothership show, as will Finn Little in the role of Carter. As previously announced, Annette Bening and Ed Harris will also star in the show.
The official logline for the series states, “Beth Dutton (Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Hauser) are grateful for the peace they sought, fought, and nearly died for with their 7,000-acre Dutton Ranch. With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter (Little) becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”
Courtney will play Rob-Will, who is described as “an imposing, unpredictable ranch foreman.”
Courtney is perhaps best known for his film roles, which include both “Suicide Squad” movies as well as “Terminator Genisys,” the “Divergent” franchise, “The Water Diviner,” “Unbroken,” and “Buffaloed.” In television, Courtney’s recent credits include “American Primeval,” “The Terminal List,” “Kaleidoscope,” and “Stateless.”
He is repped by UTA, Morrisey Management and Viewpoint.
Chad Feehan will serve as showrunner and executive producer on “The Dutton Ranch.” “Yellowstone” mastermind Taylor Sheridan executive produces along with David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Christina Voros, Reilly, Hauser and Keith Cox. Voros will also direct. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios.
