Seven Network has secured a comprehensive new multi-year broadcasting agreement with Supercars, ensuring Australia’s premier motorsport championship remains accessible to viewers across the nation on free-to-air television.

The deal encompasses the sport’s most prestigious events, including the legendary Repco Bathurst 1000, season opener, Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500, and the bp Adelaide Grand Final, alongside highlights packages from all championship rounds.

The announcement comes as Seven’s Supercars coverage continues to demonstrate impressive audience growth, reaching more than 4.8 million Australians this year — a 7% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Last year’s Bathurst 1000 proved particularly successful, attracting 3.4 million viewers with a national total television audience of 1.19 million, representing a 3% year-on-year increase and a substantial 26% surge in 7plus Sport viewership.

This agreement extends Seven’s extensive relationship with Australian motorsport, which spans over five decades.

The network originally broadcast Supercars from 1963 to 1996, returned from 2007 to 2014, and has maintained coverage since 2021, establishing itself as a cornerstone of the championship’s media landscape.

Seven West Media Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Howard emphasised the network’s commitment to motorsport excellence. “We’re passionate about motorsport at Seven, and there’s no greater motorsport in Australia than Supercars,” Howard stated. “For more than 50 years, we have worked closely with Supercars to bring innovative, world-class coverage to all Australians — live and free.”

The timing of this agreement coincides with several significant developments within the Supercars championship. The introduction of Toyota as a manufacturer in 2025 represents a pivotal moment for the sport, promising to elevate competition levels and attract new audiences. Additionally, the championship’s inaugural Finals series and potential Perth Stadium race add further excitement to the sport’s future trajectory.

Supercars Chief Executive James Warburton highlighted the historical significance of the partnership. “Seven has played such a significant role in the history of our Championship, telling the stories of our teams, our drivers and our Great Race for generations,” Warburton explained. “With so much innovation ahead — from our Finals series, new circuits and Toyota joining the grid — the timing of this deal could not be better.”

Angela Rampal, Seven’s Head of Motorsport, expressed particular enthusiasm about Toyota’s impending championship entry. “At such an exciting time for Supercars with Toyota joining the Championship next year, it is fitting Seven can continue being part of the journey,” Rampal said.
