Sabrina Carpenter‘s new album “Man’s Best Friend” has arrived. Released alongside a vividly stylized video for the second single, “Tears,” the rollout leans into spectacle, delivering colorful visuals and her signature biting charm.

“A little initiative can go a very long, long way,” she sings in the first verse of “Tears.” “Baby, just do the dishes, I’ll give you what you want.” The video features Colman Domingo in a demi-“Rocky Horror” paean, with Carpenter arriving at a house in the middle of nowhere only to be greeted by a funhouse of characters, Domingo included in drag.

Carpenter’s seventh album, “Man’s Best Friend,” is comprised of 12 tracks with 10 being labeled as explicit. This came as no surprise since the record itself was preceded by its equally suggestive cover art that featured the “Espresso” singer on her hands and knees with someone pulling a fistful of her blonde hair.

“The album is not for any pearl clutchers,” Carpenter told Gayle King of the record. “But I also think that even pearl clutchers can listen to an album like that in their own solitude and find something that makes them smirk and chuckle to themselves.”

Prior to its release, “Man’s Best Friend” was introduced by the single “Manchild,” which was her first No. 1 debut on the songs chart in the United States. She previously hit the mark with “Please Please Please,” a single from her Grammy-winning “Short n’ Sweet” album.

After completing a tour in support of “Short n’ Sweet” this year, Carpenter will get back on the road starting October with appearances at the Austin City Limits Music Festival. She’s also set to play Lollapalooza Chile, Argentina and Brazil next year.
