Comedian and actor Jimmy O. Yang will return to Australia later this year with his “BIG & TALL Tour,” following a sold-out national run in 2022.
Best known for roles in “Silicon Valley,” “Crazy Rich Asians,” and Netflix’s “Space Force,” Yang will perform in three major cities in what is set to be his most extensive Australian schedule to date. The tour begins in Brisbane at the Convention Centre on Saturday, 29 November, before heading to Sydney’s ICC Theatre on Friday, 5 December as part of the “Just For Laughs Sydney Comedy Festival.” The run concludes in Melbourne at Margaret Court Arena on Saturday, 6 December.
Yang has expanded his international profile significantly since his last visit. His stand-up specials “Guess How Much” and “Good Deal” were well received by critics, with clips from both shows attracting hundreds of millions of views across social media. His observational humour, often rooted in cultural identity and the Asian-American experience, has contributed to his growing reputation as one of the most recognisable comedians of his generation.
In addition to his stand-up work, Yang continues to build his acting career. He is set to star in the upcoming Hulu limited series “Interior Chinatown,” directed by Taika Waititi and adapted from Charles Yu’s award-winning novel. The project follows Yang’s earlier roles in Hollywood films and his writing and acting contributions to “Space Force.”
The “BIG & TALL Tour” has already enjoyed international success, including sold-out performances at Carnegie Hall in New York and upcoming shows at The Forum in Los Angeles. Australian audiences will now have the chance to see Yang’s mix of personal storytelling and sharp commentary when he returns to local stages in November and December.
