Langley Perer, a Mosaic Media Group manager, film producer and writer, died June 25 in Los Angeles from cancer, which she battled for four years. She was 44.
“A one-line quote is not enough to describe Langley. The brightest of lights, who would change the temperature in the room. Mother, wife, teammate, manager/producer. Funny, smart, and beautiful. And, apologies to all of the sensitive people out there who won’t understand (but Langley and those of us who knew her will,) she was one of the great broads of all time,” Mosaic founder Jimmy Miller said in a statement.
Perer started out doing assistant work at Gersh and went onto become a literary manager at Benderspink in 2003. She then joined Mosaic, which specializes in both production and talent management, where she supported entertainment artists like Stacy Harmon, Olivia Milch, Max Nichols, Ryan Engle and Laura Lekkos. Perer’s film producing credits include “Arthur” (2011), “I Am Number Four” (2011) and “Dude” (2018).
Perer worked at Mosaic until 2017. In recent years, she and Lekkos had been developing a comedy called “Treatable.”
“There was no one smarter, funnier, more vibrant, more committed or more believing. She brought joy to the pursuit of the profound truths and a daringness that was contagious,” Milch said in a statement. “Creating art with Langley was one of the greatest gifts of my life. I will miss her heart, mind, and soul every day.”
Perer is survived by her husband, writer-producer Scott Rosenberg and their children, Sawyer and Bowie.
Perer’s family is highlighting the Kiki Fund for Leptomeningeal Research for donations in her honor.
