“Saturday Night Live” has set a star-studded lineup for the final episodes of Season 51.
Olivia Rodrigo will pull double duty as both host and musical guest on May 2; Matt Damon will host the May 9 episode with Noah Kahan serving as musical guest; and the season finale on May 16 will be headlined by Will Ferrell as host and Paul McCartney as musical guest.
Rodrigo will be making her hosting debut, though she has previously appeared on “SNL” as a musical guest alongside host Keegan-Michael Key in 2021 and Adam Driver in 2023. Her episode comes before the June 12 release of her third album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.” Rodrigo’s previous work includes the 2021 album “Sour,” which featured the hit single “Driver’s License,” and the 2023 album “Guts.”
Damon is hosting “SNL” for the third time following episodes in 2002 and 2018, earning an Emmy nomination for his 2018 appearance. Known for films such as “Good Will Hunting,” “The Talented Mr. Ripley,” “The Bourne Identity,” its sequels and more, he stars in Christopher Nolan’s new film “The Odyssey,” which debuts on July 17.
Noah Kahan returns to “SNL” for his second time as musical guest, following a 2023 episode hosted by Emma Stone. The May 9 episode will come shortly after the April 24 release of his fourth album, “The Great Divide.”
Ferrell was an “SNL” cast member for seven seasons from 1995 to 2002 and returns to the late-night sketch show for his sixth hosting stint. Along with his work on “SNL,” he is best known for comedies such as “Elf,” “Anchorman” and “Step Brothers.” Up next, he stars in the Netflix comedy series “The Hawk,” which he also created.
McCartney will appear as the “SNL” music video for the fifth time. He has also made several cameos on the show, and appeared in the show’s 40th and 50th anniversary specials. The Beatles icon will release his album “The Boys of Dungeon Lane” on May 29.
