Disney+ has announced a February 2026 premiere date for the second season of its Australian-made original series “The Artful Dodger.” Adapting the character from Charles Dickens’ “Oliver Twist” novels, “The Artful Dodger” sees the titular pickpocket pursued by faces and consequences from his life of crime in London while trying to make a name for himself as a surgeon in 1850s Australia.

In season two, The Dodger, aka Jack Dawkins, has a date with the hangman. Hunted by Port Victory’s new lawman, Inspector Henry Boxer, Jack knows if he sees Lady Belle, the woman who’s stolen his heart, he’ll be doomed to the noose. With Boxer competing for Belle’s affections while she pursues her own career in medicine, the crafty Fagin returns to drag Jack into their most dangerous heist yet.

The heist-centric comedy drama, co-created by James McNamara, stars Thomas Brodie-Sangster (“Pistol,” “The Queen’s Gambit”) as Jack Dawkins; David Thewlis (“Big Mouth”, “Fargo”) as Fagin and Maia Mitchell (“Good Trouble,” “The Fosters”) as Lady Belle Fox.

Other returning cast members include Susie Porter (“Wentworth Prison”) as Lady Jane Fox, Damien Garvey (“Jack Irish”) as Governor Fox and Tim Minchin (“Upright”) as Darius Cracksworth. Lucy-Rose Leonard (“Neighbours”) also returns as Lady Fanny Fox, with Nicholas Burton (“Strife”) as Dr Sneed and Kim Gyngell (“How to Make Gravy”) as The Prof.

New cast members for season two include Luke Bracey (“Elvis,” “Hacksaw Ridge”) as Inspector Henry Boxer, Jeremy Sims (“Mr Inbetween”) as Uncle Dickie and Zac Burgess (“Cruel Intentions,” “Boy Swallows Universe”) as Phineas Golden.

The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Kylie Watson-Wheeler, said: “We’re excited our fan-favourite Aussie Original is back for a second season. It has more romance, adventure and razor-sharp wit, plus several new faces.”
