Premiere Date Confirmed for Season Two of ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’

The premiere date and first look images for season two of drama series “Nine Perfect Strangers” have been revealed this week.

The new season of the Nicole Kidman-led series, based on the novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty, will premiere on Prime Video in Australia on Thursday May 22nd (May 21st on Hulu in the US).

Per Prime Video, “Nine new strangers connected in ways they could never imagine are invited by mysterious guru Masha Dmitrichenko (Kidman) to join a transformational wellness retreat in the Austrian Alps. Over the course of a week, she takes them to the brink. Will they make it? Will she? Masha is willing to try anything in the interest of healing everyone involved, including herself.”

Season two of “Nine Perfect Strangers” boasts a formidable cast alongside Kidman that includes Annie Murphy (“Schitt’s Creek”), Henry Golding (“Crazy Rich Asians”), Mark Strong (“Sherlock Holmes”), Emmy Award winner Christine Baranski and fellow Australian, Murray Bartlett (“The White Lotus”).

The show first launched in 2021, with the premiere reportedly the most-watched Hulu Original at the time.

Season one of “Nine Perfect Strangers,” which starred the likes of Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Bobby Cannavale and Regina Hall, picked up two AACTA Award nominations following its release, including Best Drama Series.

It was also filmed in Australia during the COVID pandemic, with all actors being required to quarantine for 14 days.

The first two episodes of season two will drop on May 22nd, with new episodes launching weekly after that.

The show hails from David E. Kelley, Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories, Nicole Kidman’s Blossom Films, and FIFTH SEASON. FIFTH SEASON is handling distribution on the series as well. The series is executive produced by David E. Kelley, Nicole Kidman, Per Saari, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, Molly Allen, Jonathan Levine, Rachel Shukert, Liane Moriarty, Matthew Tinker, Anthony Byrne and JH Butterworth.
