Kiwi comedian Guy Montgomery is bringing his ABC hit TV show “Guy Mont-Spelling Bee” back to where it all began — the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
The one-off live show hits the Palais Theatre on Monday, April 7th, and marks a return to the festival following three consecutive years of sold-out performances. Montgomery will be joined by some of the biggest names on the MICF lineup, putting them through spelling rounds that range from the straightforward to the utterly infuriating. It’s a show designed to be maddening to compete in — and hilarious to watch.
Tickets go on sale to the public at 12pm local time on Friday, November 29th. My Live Nation members can access presale tickets from 11am on Thursday, November 28th until 12pm Friday. For full tour and ticket details, head to livenation.com.au.
The ‘Guy Mont-Spelling Bee’ forms part of Montgomery’s just-announced national tour ‘I’ve Noticed so Many Things, It’d Be Unfair to Keep Them to Myself’, with shows at Adelaide Fringe, Canberra Comedy Festival, the Atheneum Theatre in Melbourne, Perth Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival, and stops in Brisbane, Newcastle, Wollongong, Gold Coast, and Geelong.
A familiar face on Aussie screens, Montgomery has appeared on “Have You Been Paying Attention”, “Thank God You’re Here”, and of course, his own “Guy Mont-Spelling Bee” on ABC.
This run follows his sold-out 2024 tour ‘Over 50,000,000 Guy Fans Can’t Be Wrong’, which saw him perform across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. Earlier this year, he also hosted the Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow at MICF.
