Lil Nas X was arrested and hospitalized for a possible overdose early Thursday morning after being seen wandering Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles in underwear and cowboy boots.

While the Los Angeles Police Department did not name him directly, they confirmed to Variety that an incoherent, nude man was taken into custody and hospitalized around 5:50 a.m. — the same time and location the artist (real name Montero Hill) was captured on video, according to footage obtained by TMZ.

LAPD responded to calls and complaints early Thursday morning that a nude man was acting erratically on the street. He was arrested for battery of an officer and was subsequently transferred to a hospital on the suspicion of a potential overdose. His condition remains unknown.

Representatives for Lil Nas X have not returned Variety‘s request for comment.

In the footage shared by TMZ, Lil Nas X is seen strutting down an empty street in white underwear and a matching cowboy hat. He is heard singing and telling the person recording to “not be late for the party tonight,” and to put the phone down. There are multiple clips of Lil Nas X walking down the same, long shopping strip on Ventura Blvd that indicate he was walking for at least 15 minutes, although the details leading up to his arrest remain unknown.

Before Thursday, Lil Nas X had made a several, seemingly random posts on his Instagram after wiping his page. On Wednesday, he flooded his Instagram page with song snippets, including collaborations with Lil Jon and Young Kio, in addition to pictures of the inside of his home. In at least one of those posts, he’s seen wearing the same white cowboy boots he was wearing in Thursday’s video.
