Swedish producer Avicii’s music catalogue experienced a significant streaming surge following the release of a new documentary about the late artist.

Worldwide streams of the DJ and producer’s music catalog surged in the wake of the release of “I’m Tim” on Netflix on Dec. 31—up to 63.9%, according to Billboard, with especially large gains for “Wake Me Up,” “The Nights” and “Levels.”

The DJ, real name Tim Bergling, passed away in 2018 at the age of 28. He released two albums during his lifetime, with a third released the year following his death.

This week, Forbes reported that all three are back in the charts in the United Kingdom, with his debut album “True” back at No. 6 on the Official Dance Charts, his posthumous album “Tim” back at No. 11 and his second full-length album, “Stories” at No. 22 on that same list.

The hugely successful single “Wake Me Up,” which was named the highest-charting dance track of the 2010s, rises on the Official Dance Singles chart, pushing from No. 37 to No. 22.

In 2022, Bergling’s family sold 75% of his master recordings and publishing to Pophouse Entertainment, the Stockholm-based company co-founded by ABBA’s Bjorn Ulvaeus, which is behind that group’s multi-million-dollar “Voyage” show in London and other enterprises.

According to the announcement, a joint venture has been created between the family and estate of Avicii and Pophouse “to safeguard Avicii’s indelible legacy through future global endeavours,” such as the interactive tribute museum in Stockholm, “Avicii Experience,” that Pophouse and the Bergling family together opened in February.

The family estate retained ownership of the remaining 25%, but terms of the deal, which was estimated to be for nine figures, were not disclosed.

At the time, Avicii’s father, Klas Bergling, said: “Pophouse has presented a concrete concept and proposal for the long-term care and development of Tim’s musical heritage. Through this deal, we are also securing the Tim Bergling Foundation’s long-term finances, creating opportunity to act decisively on the Foundation’s commitments to supporting such important issues as mental health and well-being of young people. Working with the Tim Bergling Foundation is a full-time commitment for us. The foundation has only been running for a few years and much needs to be done for a long time to come.”
