Rosie O’Donnell to Make Australian Debut at Sydney Opera House

Rosie O’Donnell will perform in Australia for the first time with her one-woman show “Common Knowledge” at the Sydney Opera House on Thursday, October 9th 2025.

The show will be staged at 2pm and 8pm, with tickets on sale from Thursday, 14th August via the Sydney Opera House website.

Following performances in Dublin and at the Edinburgh Fringe, “Common Knowledge” will feature O’Donnell reflecting on her move from the United States to Ireland, her career, and her long-standing desire to visit Australia.

“I’ve always dreamed of playing at the best venues in the world,” O’Donnell said. “The Sydney Opera House is number one on my list. How amazing for me to get on that stage?! Such hallowed ground, and to perform for the wonderful people Down Under, just incredible. Thank you Australia.”

The show combines comedy and personal storytelling, covering topics from pop culture to politics. O’Donnell, an eleven-time Emmy and Tony Award winner, is known for her work as a comedian, television host, and actor.

“Common Knowledge” has played to sold-out audiences internationally, receiving positive reviews.

The Herald in Scotland described it as “a simply magical evening…she conducts the tempo and tone of this show like a maestro,” while One4Review called it “a total triumph…moving, warm & heartfelt.”

The Scotsman gave it four stars, writing, “Make no mistake about it, we are in the presence of an absolutely class act…Rosie is gentle, thoughtful, intelligent and wise with an ability to conjure emotion…spellbinding.” The List also awarded four stars, describing it as, “Masterful and comedic storytelling. American comedian Rosie O’Donnell brings her storytelling skills to the Fringe with a tear-inducing and hilarious show.”
