The final season of a flagship science fiction series and the debut film of a new animation studio are coming to Apple TV+ this month.
On August 5th, “Luck”, the debut film of Skydance Animation, finally arrives after it was initially supposed to premiere in February. “Luck” ironically follows Sam Greenfield, the unluckiest person in the world. After she unexpectedly finds herself in the never-before-seen Land of Luck, she must work alongside some magical creatures to turn her luck around once and for all.
The film contains an all-star voice cast featuring Simon Pegg, Jane Fonda, Whoopi Goldberg, and John Ratzenberger.
On August 26th, the final season of science fiction drama “See” premieres on the platform. “Aquaman” star Jason Momoa leads the cast of the post-apocalyptic series, set in the distant future where a tribe believes that two of its children have the mythical power to see.
Season three will be set one year after Momoa’s Baba Voss defeated his nemesis brother Edo and retreated to live in the forest. He’s swiftly forced to return to society in order to protect his tribe when a Trivantian scientist develops a new and devastating form of sighted weaponry that threatens the future of humanity.
Any new series from Irish comedian and writer Sharon Horgan (“Pulling”, “Catastrophe”, “Divorce”) is cause for celebration, and hopes are high for “Bad Sisters,” which arrives on Apple TV+ on August 19th. The dark comedy thriller is based on the Flemish series “Clan”, transferring the action from Belgium to London and Dublin.
The series will follow the grieving Garvey sisters, who are struggling to deal with the premature death of their parents and a promise to always protect one another. If anyone can mine comedy from such a situation, it’s Horgan.
