The Screen Music Awards nominees for 2022 have been announced.
The nominees span 12 categories including Feature Film Score of the Year, Best Television Theme and Best Music for a Television Series or Serial.
Leading the pack is composer Caitlin Yeo, who amassed five nominations across Best Music for a Documentary, Best Television Theme (two nominations), Best Music for a Mini-Series or Telemovie and Best Soundtrack Album.
Well-known musicians including Kate Miller-Heidke, Josh Pyke and Missy Higgins have also received nods in the 2022 nominations.
The 2022 Screen Music Awards will take place in Melbourne/ Naarm on Tuesday, Nov. 15, hosted by Anne Edmonds and Akina Edmonds.
The nominees and winners of 10 of the 13 awards will be determined by a panel of respected screen composers. The winners of Most Performed Screen Composer (Australia) and Most Performed Screen Composer (Overseas) will be determined by royalty earnings.
The Distinguished Services to the Australian Screen Award, meanwhile, will be determined by APRA’s board of directors.
The 2021 Screen Music Awards were delayed due to the pandemic, and winners were unveiled without the platform of a physical event. You can read about last year’s winners here.
