The Seven Network’s latest free-to-air offering, 7Bravo, has officially started broadcasting.

The new channel comes off the back of a partnership with the U.S.’s NBCUniversal, with content spanning reality, entertainment and true crime.

Just one day into its operation, Seven said it expects 7Bravo to attract new, younger viewers, particularly those who stream it online via 7Plus. Seven said it projects 90% of its broadcast video on demand (BVOD) audience will be unique, non-linear viewers.

The shows, it said, will target women and “hard-to-reach” demographics.

One such offering will be an Australian iteration of “Below Deck”, known as “Below Deck Down Under”. It launches later this month.

Seven said “Below Deck Down Under” will take ocean adventures to a whole new level.

“Set against the stunning backdrop of the tropical Whitsunday Islands and world-famous Great Barrier Reef, “Below Deck Down Under” explores the complex, often explosive dynamics of the crew and a rotating group of demanding charter guests on M/Y Thalassa,” publicity for the show said.

7Bravo will also screen international franchises “The Real Housewives” and “Million Dollar Listing”.

It will also host talk shows including “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show”, as well as “Judge Jerry” and red carpet content from key awards shows courtesy of E!.

James Warburton, Seven West Media’s managing director and chief executive officer, said the new station would have “strong female appeal”.

“We are honoured and excited to join NBCUniversal International Networks and Direct-to-Consumer in creating 7Bravo,” he said.

“NBCUniversal is a global content powerhouse and the creator of some of the best-known and most-loved entertainment brands in the world, and we look forward to being the broadcast home to the next generation of the best new reality and true crime series to come.”
