Everything Coming to Apple TV Plus in June 2022

Apple TV Plus June lineup

There’s a strong mixture of positively reviewed old titles and intriguing new series coming to Apple TV Plus in June.

Australia’s own Rose Byrne returns as Sheila Rubin in season two of the dark period comedy “Physical”. The actress carried the first season as a Californian housewife who embarks on a journey of self-discovery through the world of aerobics. The series is set in the 80s, so expect lots more tight lycra and overly-sprayed hair in the new season.

Another show returning for a new season is “For All Mankind”, the contemplative alternative reality series that wonders “what would have happened if the global space race had never ended.” How different would our world be had the Soviet Union made it to the Moon ahead of the United States?

The first season of “For All Mankind” somewhat slipped under the radar, but season two was nominated for a TCA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Drama. With the upcoming season depicting the effort to land people on Mars, expect the series to only grow in strength.

One new series hoping to impress viewers is “Loot”, a comedy from Matt Hubbard and Alan Yang, two former Parks and Recreation writers. Maya Rudolph leads a strong cast as billionaire Molly Novak, whose life is rocked when her husband of 20 years betrays her publicly.

As she seemingly reaches rock bottom, Molly discovers that she has a charity foundation run by the no-nonsense Sofia Salinas (Michaela Jaé Rodriguez), who pleads with Molly to stop generating bad press. “Loot” may not sound like classic comedy fodder on the surface, but with the wonderful Rudolph at its forefront, there should be high hopes for the series.
